We have designed a cross-curricular, STEAM based project across grade levels that requires students to use 21st century skills and achieve deeper understanding of what sustainability is.
Driving Question:
How can students create sustainable homes, schools and communities?
Sustainability:
The first step we must take to answer this question is to understand what sustainability is. The following video will assist us with that.

Students will brainstorm ideas to answer this question.

Project Based Learning:
One of the projects that students will work on across different grade levels is to plan, design, create, maintain, and harvest square foot garden. Students will discover the basic needs of plants; design a square foot garden, use an app to track the progress of the garden, use measurements to build the garden and use their creativity to make the garden unique.
